Great sounds for small rooms!
Just recieved my JBL 300 and it is exactly what I expected! My living room is 25 by 25 and this small unit filled the entire room with rich sound. The Google feature is very useful for quick and easy voice commands. My only ding for this otherwise great product is the lack of “visual presence”. The four small LED lights and Wifi symbol at the very bottom, but a price tag touching 250.00 I would like to have had some more appealing light to voice command interactions. Besidea that, I have nothing but high marks for this one!

This thing is garbage
I've got several other JBL bluetooth speakers, without the Google home assistant, that are excellent. This one is garbage. It plays fine from my phone but connected to my MacBook through iTunes, the music is slow. Both connected through bluetooth. Not sure the difference. Also the firmware is out of date. It's supposed to update on its own but it hasn't. I shouldn't have to spend so much time researching how to force an update, and I can't find any solutions for the music issue. I like JBL, but this speaker is garbage.

Great sound, great assistant, but not the best
I received this product a few days ago. The sound is AMAZING! The google assistant works flawlessly and setup and instructions were clear and easy. The only drawbacks would be the fact that, although it can connect to additional chromecast speakers, itndoes not have the well known jbl connect+ feature. I have jbl connect capable speakers throughout my house and that feature wouldve put this product over the top at 5 stars! I still highly recommend this.

Great sound quality!
I am truly impressed by the sound this speaker produces.
The dynamic range is excellenct with deep bass, which is well controlled and not just boomy, and it does not come on the expense of the presence of the mids, which are clear, and the highs are just right. Very well tuned! The sound is spacious and even the soundstage is surprisingly good for a mono speaker.
It would have been better if it were stereo instead of mono and if it supported higher quality Bluetooth audio profiles like aptX and aptX HD for an even better sound but it doesn't.
It would have also been nicer if the power transformer had been built-in the speaker or at least in the pet power plug instead of that big power brick in between... Or if the connector had simply been USB-C that would have worked with any USB-C PD transformer instead... Anyway, no product is ever prefect... It definitely delivers well on the most important in a speaker - sound, and, over all, it does provide great value for its price.
I haven't experimented with its smarts, yet, so no feedback on its WiFi capabilities or its Google Assistant and Chromecast features.
I do have a serious problem with it, though - the Bluetooth connectivity is just horrible - it stops playing very frequently without any apparent cause and resumes only after disconnecting it and reconnecting, again and again. I checked and It does not happen with the same audio source and a different Bluetooth speaker. It is too bad to believe it might be normal so it might be just a defective unit but I haven't exhausted the troubleshooting attempts yet, before requestinh a replacement. I will update about that later on.

Small package, Powerful Punch
Let me start by saying WOW! This thing is awesome! I unboxed the unit and it took about 10min to get everything up and running. The overall sound quality out of this little guy is amazing even though most people want to adjust the treble or bass adjustments just to their liking but their no need, it picks up on all the right notes and bass throughout any song. The google assist is an added bonus for the family and I. If you want excellent sound that doesn't take up any space in your room this is for you.

I purchased two Link 300’s during the spring sales event. On top of that, I chose to purchase refurbished at $94 a piece. Since I’m in the Nest ecosystem, im limited in the options for a medium speaker. Price cannot be beat. Sound quality is subjective and it’s all about how the individual hears the music but for me, as a rock fan, the Link 300 sounds very good. Good bass response, clear highs and good mid range. I particularly find the Stones remasters and blues to sound exceptional. After a week or two, I found the speakers to be broken in and the sound quality has become more refined. I do feel that the microphones could be more sensitive, I find it has a hard time picking up “Hey Google” when there are other noises happening in the area. Overall a good purchase, I’m very happy with the product.

Not worth to buy this Link 300
I have link 10, 20 and 300. They all not work well at all. This is worst serial product from JBL.
1 The speakers only work well at strong Wi-Fi signal or it will act funky.
2 Blue tooth not work well will drop out from time to time
3 It won’t work well Google home. Then I need to reset it.
4 Customer service is bad with this product. They don’t understand what is the problem and keep on said the product is good. Slow on everything.
5 300 is big and heavy with no battery back up

Fabulous sound for the price. Audio mirrowing feature to allow multiple devices to participate in a group is a key feature. Just a few mins to set up.

Very good bass and it looks really sharp!
I wanted to live with this for a couple weeks before writing a review and I have to say I'm really enjoying it. Initial setup was very easy and it took less than 10 minutes to complete it. I'm new to the google assistant and it responds really well to questions. Now onto the sound, it really is a good sounding speaker. It comes in a very sleek looking shape which allows it to kick out some nice bass! Overall a very nice, very responsive, sleek and solid speaker!

Good sound
I purchased a Link 500 and am very pleased with the sound, both the range of frequencies and the loudness, so when the 300 came on sale I leaped at getting one figuring I would get the same thing as the 500 just smaller and a little quieter. I was wrong. The 300 still has a good quality sound but when I played some music with a lot of bass the speaker rumbled like the cone was ripped. When I turned it down most of the rumbling went away. Most music sounds great on this. I do feel that the wifi sensitivity could stand to be improved. My Google home mini works great in my garage but when I replaced it with the Link 300 it could not join my wireless network. Moving it a few feet close to my access point fixed it but it is no longer in a convenient place.
All in all it is a good speaker but don't expect room shaking bass.

Helpful speaker with great sound
I love this speaker. Control your music streaming apps by voice command, set reminders, ask for directions or the weather and much more. You also have the option of connecting audio through bluetooth or through chromecast. Audio quality is great immersive sound in small and large rooms and through the use of the passive radiator jbl has saved space and added some impressive bass response in a compact speaker. My only complaint is that it isn't portable but I just run an extension cord through the window when im bbq'ing. I've only had the speaker for about a week so I cant say anything as to durability but jbl has always been top notch so I dont expect a problem there. Pricing is a little on the steep side but your not just getting a speaker your getting an assistant in your ever day home life. All in all very satisfied with the jbl link 300

Speaker was awesome, app needs work.
Was Super excited to try this. But the app is so hard to understand. We had a hard time connecting it to our phones. My sons samsung phone worked better than my apple. It always had issues trying to play music. It needs more directions or setup instructions. There wasn't a issue with the product. It's the app. When we did get it to work it worked awesome!!! The Bluetooth speaker was amazing!!! No suprise there tho. Cause we love jbl sound!

RETURNED
Loud annoying bleep sound at every connection no way to silence or quiet.
Sound thumpy with very flat high end. Not for someone who listens to orchestral music of any kind.
However that's all moot since it's constantly cutting out. Several times a minute at its worst.
Only way to stop it was turn off every notification on my phone as well as put it in DND mode and turn off Bluetooth. I'm sticking with wired speaker options.

Awesome speaker
Received the speaker a couple of days ago and was immediately impressed. The Google feature is easy to setup and works great. Connecting to the speaker via bluetooth is also easy and quick. The speaker has a nice and clear sound. While my phone was connected and in my pocket, I walked to another room and the sound was still clear. My wife used it some last night and she was in love with it. Definitely worth the purchase.

Great except when it listens to your conversations
The sound is nice for a kitchen speaker.
It's very convenient to have a voice activated speaker.
One eerie thing : someone used the word idiot and the google speaker chimed in that it was a derogatory word and could emotionally harm the person it is used against. And therefore the word should be avoided.
But that is Google , not JBL.
JBL speaker works very nicely. Very responsive, especially when connected to spotify.

Great speaker how to update
I purchased 3 of the JBL Link 300 2 came with firmware 1259 and 1 with 1690. The 1259 was missing many features and no matter what i did i could not update. The one with 1690 had all features including making calls. Now suddenly the one with 1690 stopped allowing calls saying it was unsupported. How do i get calls working again. My Link 20 with 1690 firmware has always made calls and still does and my HK 100 please help.

Great addition to my kitchen!
When I got the speaker I had to meal prep so I set it up and placed it on my kitchen table and it hasn't moved since. The sound is really clear, the bass bumps and its hands free. I love that I can just say "hey google play music" or "next song" without having to dry my hands when I do the dishes. My only issue is that my kitchen is small and I feel like the sound is loud and fills the whole room a little too well.

Product Failure
Product works intermittently. Volume is inconsistent. Product will produce crackles and pops during playback and ultimately turn to nothing but loud screeching and static until it is unplugged. Product consistently disconnects from wireless internet and won't reconnect without unplugging and plugging back in. This product is not worth the hassle and aggravation. Definitely would purchase a different product.

Amazing Build. Supreme Bass
I got this product month ago. The speaker is really well built. The sound is ambient with a deep bass and great overall sound. The inbuilt google assistant works really well. It is a perfect blend of the Google assistant and JBL's audio in to one device. .

Wow! Amazing sound
Bought this for a Christmas Gift, you know, from Santa to Me. Sounds amazing! Great bass! The sound fills the room. Love the built in Chromecast to link to my other JBL link speakers and love the Google assistant built in. 10/10. Is worth the $300 price tag but makes it that much sweeter I got mine for $79.95 direct from the manufacturer website. Shipped for free and was on my doorstep in two days!

Dated design but good sound and features
This was larger than I hoped and definitely not portable. It comes with a hefty power pack and cable system so its not early hidden. It's pretty heavy and its shape is reminiscent of old 90s style boomboxes, rounded and squat.
Was easy enough to set up, and connected via Google Home app quickly. I was concerned at the amount of information it appears to log but I guess this is what you sacrifice in order to have a machine tell you what the weather is when you ask?!
The music it played when asked "Hey google, play some music" - the sound quality was excellent, rich deep bass and clear sound, however music choice left a lot to be desired as it blasted explicit rap as a default.
If the design was reworked I would consider this, but as it stands its a great system for sound and function but with its current looks, I wouldn't select it. In a compact apartment, the form counts for as much as function.
